Hey all. Just joined the group and figured I'd say Hi.

I kinda took the long road to get here. (More on that later) but glad I found you folks.
Gotta say it's TAK's Cool Tube preamp system offerings that bring me here and has me staying awake and playing at night.

Becoming fed up with several guitars I no longer play, I decided to loose them for just one GOOD acoustic. (We all know how that goes)

Electrically, I play Parker Fly's and Mojo's through a Mesa Triaxis and Randall RT 2/50, so I decided to look into Parker's line of acoustics.
While there, the dude puts a TAN15C in my hand and it has been "GAME OVER" ever since. Never have played anything as warm sounding.

My quest has now ended with a "Cool Tubed" TAN16C in my hands.

Don't know much about the resonant qualities between the Cedar and Spruce models. My decision was based on a deadnought cutaway model with the CTP-1 preamp. I do know that I've found TAK's to be extremely consistant over the competitive Martin's I tried.

Anyway, glad to be here.

Stay tuned!
Paul

How does it sound unplugged? I have an EG523SC and it sounds a bit thin unplugged (which is strange for a Jumbo) but wonderful when plugged in. And I listened to the sound clips with Jorgensen (sp?) on the Tak website and I love the sound plugged in. But was curious how the sound was unlpugged...let me know....... Laughing

Maritimer - It's odd, I just played an EG523SC yesterday. Gotta agree with you... for a Jumbo there wasn't much fullness there.
The Non-G series TAK's are really different animals. From those that I've tried, the fullness is there whether plugged or unplugged.
Lotsa folks crave the EF341, however it just wasn't for me for some reason.
If I didn't score the TAN16C, my next personal choice would have been the (Cedar) TAN15C or their Natural series EAN40C.
Yeah even though the EAN40C has the CT-4B preamp, to my ears, it blew away a much more expensive Martin. Good value...
I just favor pickguards and cutaway designs.

If you haven't tried any of their cool tube offerings, I HIGHLY recommend it. I haven't been able to look back since.
