Hi Folks! I'm new here too, just purchased a 2 yr. old Tak EG523SC on
E-bay, really like the Jumbo sound and feel, it has been professionally set up for the action. I'm 40, 3 kids and a wife, live in East Coast of Canada, been playing for about 25 yrs., 5 guitars in the house (1 is my son's, he just started, it's a Jay Turser Jr. 3/4 acoustic, and I have also a St. Laurent acoustic beater I don't list also). Play mostly acoustic while amp-ed, jam with other friends and occasionally play a benefit show or variety concert. PLay mostly older stuff, rock, soft rock, pop, (Eagles, James Taylor, CSNY, other Canadian bands, etc).
I have a question about my EG523SC.....the low E string has very low volume when amp-ed, tried all the tonal trim on the guitar and amp and still seems low, could the pickup have moved from under the saddle? The rest sounds awesome. Anyway, nice to be aboard and look forward to joining in conversations.... |

Hi,
i am 40 year old pro musician from Goa, India. i have started my musical Journey in 1987 using a Takamine EN-10. Due to a frenzy of madness I sold my beautiful EN10 for a song and shifted to Ovation Custom legend. An action i have regreted over the years. Now I want to get back to Takamine so I am in the process of buying the 12 String EF400SC and the 6 string TNV360S.
I am a big admirer Of takamine, they are lovingly crafted and a great value for money.
Cheers,
keyshore |

Hi everyone.
I am new to this forum as I just purchased a Tak EG523SC-12. I saw this guitar at my local guitar store and couldn't put it down. It is truly a work of art and is just a blast to play. According to the clerk, it had never been "set up" and was taken out of the box and put in their display rack. It is perfect! The sustain is incredible and when I put it through my practice amp it just sings. I can't get enought of my new toy! |

Hi all
My name is Gary,
I'm 43 and have just been refered to this site as I specialise in making saddles from Ox-bone, Mammoth Ivory, Copper, Brass, Silver and Gold for Takamine and most makes of acoustic guitars!
Apart from my 2 sons I love guitars, I have a TAN 45C, EG523SC-12 and TF250SMC Takamine plus various Washburn acoustics.
I also have the same username in the Washburn guitar forum with some really great members as friends so feel free to have a look to see what I chat about!
I am a guitar repairer and technician so if you have any questions related to this or if I can offer any valued input please ask!

Hi there, I've been reading the Forum for some time, but just tossed up a couple of posts on questions that I've had for a while.
Good to 'meet' you all. Although I suppose 'you all' is a bit of a stretch ...the TakamineTalk forum isn't exactly a bustling hive of activity!
That said, it seems to be the best forum for sharing Tak-specific information.
Can anyone recommend other Takamine online resources, by the way?
And by way of introduction, I love music and guitars. I've got a small but quality collection of Martin, Gibson, Taylor and Larrivee guitars (and some electrics, but that's another story). But my Takamine (an EF341SC) is the beautiful workhorse. Handsome and toneful, it is the guitar I travel with.
The other night I had a friend over and we ended up in an improptu jam. I had two electronics equiped acoustics out and plugged in: my Tak and an expensive Martin D18 Golden Era. My buddy preferred the Tak for tone and playability. So there you have it!

Hi.
New member here from Phoenix. I've been playing for 30+ years but only for my own enjoyment and still stuck in the "intermediate beginner" catagory.
I mostly hang out at the Ovation Fan Club and Martin Forums. I'm new to Takamine. I also recently got into Collings. I'd say I'm more of a collector than a player. I just got an EF75S. Very nice instrument.
My main passion is actually ukulele! Anyway, it's nice to be here and I hope to have some good exchanges with you.
Thanks, Dave |

I am kind of new, but I wonder whether this forum is active any more.
Have had Tak EF360S, EF340, TF341DLX, and EC128. The only left is TF341DLX, which I put on sale.
All Taks I had were very well made. Plugged sound is always good. But unplugged sound, IMO, is not as good as Larrivees or Martins. |

| Hey, I'm a beginner guitarist. 19yrs old and just started about three weeks ago. I own a G340, I had originally intended to get a Washburn but purchased the Tak instead. I am a musician (flutist) but I mostly play classical. I've always wanted to learn guitar and I finally decided to stop procrastinating and get started, plus it didn't hurt that I had a sudden windfall. Sore fingers beside i'm totally enjoying my new instrument and can't wait till I can actually play something. |

I'm 59, been playing guitars of various sorts since Christmas 1973, when my (ex)wife gave me a classical guitar. Over the years I've had and lost quite a few guits, but my first serious case of GAS came 20 years ago at the hands of a maple Takamine Jumbo with gold tuners (sadly, I could not afford it). I just retired from a 32 year carreer in public education, so I gave myself a guitar for a retirement present, a custom shop Breedlove. Got GAS during the wait so 2 days ago I bought a Takamine 2005 Limited Edition A/E, the one with the cattail on the soundboard. I've wanted one since they relesed them a few years ago, found a brand new one complete with hardshell case at a small town music store in WA.
Glad to be here, I participate on a few other forums, but most of my chatter is about acoustic guitar (very little electric), and I am very proud of my newest acquisition, so I thought this is the place to be.
